Kenneth (Desmond Harrington) has never been lucky with women. He is attracted to his assistant, Lisa (Melissa Sagemiller), but is too shy and awkward to approach her. When he comes across a company that manufactures lifelike, custom-designed sex dolls, a momentary impulse leads him to purchase one designed to look just like Lisa. He projects his feelings for Lisa onto the doll, with whom he starts carrying on an imaginary affair, complete with dinners and kinky sex. When his relationship with the real Lisa begins to grow, he starts comparing her to the doll and becomes dissatisfied with Lisa’s human imperfections. In his twisted mind, Kenneth’s ultimate goal now shifts from making the doll more and more like Lisa to making Lisa more like the doll — with horrific results.
